The technology for producing clinker bricks is based on the firing of a special type of clay with increased plasticity. It is pressed and produced by high-temperature firing until baking occurs. Colored dyes from natural raw materials can be added, both in the firing process and at the mass kneading stage. It is noteworthy that the color of the finished product depends on the temperature and duration of firing.

Due to the fact that the production of clinker occurs at very high temperatures, its strength is very high. Bricks and tiles made with this technology are being used to stretch even roads and squares. Resistance to aggressive environmental influences makes this material indispensable for use in places with high humidity. Masonry, made of such material, can withstand more than 100 years. Lack of clinker – high cost. It is more than 2 times higher than that of ceramic bricks.

Strictly speaking, it is more correct to call this material an artificial stone. It is produced by the method of dry pressing of loose components. These include crushed limestone, cement and dyes. All this is mixed and compressed to the required shape. Then the blanks are aged from 3 to 7 days on pallets and go on sale.

The hyper pressed brick has the following advantages:

  • High strength.
  • Frost resistance.
  • Moisture resistance.
  • Low wear and tear.
  • Easily tolerates temperature extremes.

This is the most common type of brick. Its disadvantage is the penetration of moisture into the brick structure, which leads to the release of salts on the surface, creating a whitish coating.

There are only two ways of laying bricks:

  • Method 1 – joint, involving a bundle between the facing and common layer. It is not very popular, since it assumes the presence of an excessive number of butt brick bricks outside, which reduces the decorative appeal. This option of laying is applicable only in the construction of new housing.
  • Method 2 – separate, in which the facing layer is located at a short distance from the bearing walls. Contact with them is carried out by means of anchors and fittings from metal. This method makes it possible to further insulate the walls and create ventilation between the layers.

It is preferable that the erection of the facing wall is designed in advance. There are situations when it is necessary to impose bricks on an already built house. In this case, you need to add a foundation to create a bearing surface.

Before proceeding with facing a house with bricks, it is necessary to calculate the need for materials. If it is easy enough for insulation, then how much brick per 1 m2 of masonry is more difficult to determine. The area of ​​a single product is defined as the product of its length and height. It turns out 0.01625 m2. Since, facing walls are usually erected with brickwork “in half-brick”, 61,538 pieces will be required to fill 1 m2. It is also necessary to take into account the thickness of the seams, which is on average 9 mm. Given this, the consumption of bricks is reduced to 52 pieces per 1 m2. Knowing this, it remains to calculate the entire area of ​​the walls minus the area of ​​the openings and multiply the resulting number by 52. ​​Taking into account the error and the inevitable “battle” of the material, it is necessary to add another 5 to 10% depending on the construction volume.

After all the calculations and the purchase of the material you can start work. First pour the foundation to the desired width. Then proceed to the installation of the insulation layer. As a heater plates from mineral wool or polyfoam can act. Joints between polyfoam propenyut assembly foam. Insulation is attached to the bearing walls with the help of special anchors, which also serve as a connecting link between the wall and the facing masonry. Above the insulation it is necessary to fix the vapor barrier film, which will prevent steam condensation.

In order to avoid drying, the solution is not prepared much. It can be purchased at the store and make the attached instructions. Those interested can cook it yourself. This requires cement, sand and water. If necessary, the mixture can add a dye of the desired color. In order for the consistency to be optimal, the following proportions of bricklaying mortar must be observed:

  • To prepare the solution of grade 100, one part of cement M400 and four parts of sand are taken. For elasticity add 100 grams. detergent.
  • If M500 cement is used, then to obtain the same mortar, 5 parts of sand are needed for one part of cement.
  • If a more dense solution of mark 200 is needed, then one part of M400 cement and two parts of sand are taken.

The viscosity and plasticity of the resulting mass should be convenient for the work. It is regulated by the amount of water.

For strictly horizontal masonry, the building level is used. Initially, each layer is laid without a solution to identify non-standard and damaged bricks. Then the solution is applied so that no more than 1-1.5 cm remains to the edge of the brick. A special template is used for this. The bricks are stacked so that the vertical seams are not more than 10 mm, and horizontal 12 mm. This is regulated by a special device or bar of the required thickness.

When ingested solution on the front part, it must be removed. The same is done if it falls into the space between the supporting wall and the cladding.
